Deep sea port development:

This will be the first of a kind privately owned and managed Port facility in the entire continent of Africa. This is one of the projects being proposed by Amexum Corporation in conjunction with the Refinery and other related projects. The Deep Seaport is anticipated to serve the needs for evacuation of the Refinery Products as well as it would be available for commercial use to service the entire West African sub region. It is anticipated that dredging would be necessary to depth of around 25m, to allow vessels capable of 6 million barrels capacity. Navigational survey will be conducted to determine suitable site to minimize cost, or to locate the sea port as close as possible to the Amexum Corporation facility. A full fledged business plan is yet to be developed, but the viability of a deep seaport to service the entire region is very high, with the Energy Park being developed and myriads of oil service companies around and in close by neighboring countries. The anticipated cost to build the deep sea port is about$2.0 billion, and a fully comprehensive business plan is presently in the process.
